RCMP seek break and enter culprits

On August 26 at approximately 5:50 a.m., Yorkton RCMP were called to an alarm at a restaurant located on the north side of Broadway Street West between Myrtle Avenue and Maple Avenue.

Police arrived on scene to find that culprit(s) had cut through the rear entrance door of the building, gaining access inside. Once inside the culprit(s) were able to remove several items including a safe and computer as well as several deposit envelopes with an undisclosed amount of money. The tool used to breach the exterior steel door of the building would have been audible in the surrounding residential and business areas.

RCMP are looking for anyone with knowledge on the incident. If you have information contact the Yorkton Municipal Detachment at 1-306-786-2400 or you may call Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

On August 27 at 2:30 a.m., Kamsack RCMP responded to a 911 call regarding an aggravated assault in the village of Togo, Saskatchewan.

Togo is approximately 30 km south east of Kamsack. A 49 year old male from Togo suffered stab wounds to his head and neck when he was allegedly attacked by a 13-year-old male. The accused fled the scene by smashing an upstairs window. The 13 year old was located at his residence a short time later and was arrested without incident. The 49 year old victim was taken to local hospital and was released later that morning after treatment for his injuries. The 13 year old male and 49 year old male were known to each other. Also assisting in the investigation was the RCMP Forensic Identification unit out of Yorkton.

The 13 year old male was in Yorkton Provincial Court earlier this week for his first appearance and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in Yorkton on September 28 at 9:30 a.m.
