Co-op set to expand

It’s expanding to meet the needs of local consumers.

The Board of Directors of the Yorkton Co-operative Association Limited has announced a new food store will be built in Kamsack.

Construction is scheduled to begin June 1, 2012. The 10,800 square foot food store will include fresh meat, produce, deli and bakery departments as well as a full line of grocery items.

Board President Gene Krepakevich says, “This project has been in the works for a long time, and the timing is right for us to build now in Kamsack.

This is a significant investment in the Town of Kamsack, and it tells our members that we are here to stay.”

The new food store will create additional employment opportunities with the expanded fresh departments.

Currently the Kamsack food store employs 15 staff.

Yorkton Co-op operates food stores in Yorkton and Kamsack, a gas bar/convenience store in Kamsack, two gas bar/convenience stores in Yorkton, a Service Centre in Theodore, Agro Centres in Yorkton and Ebenezer, a keylock in Dubuc and cardlocks in Rhein, Yorkton and Theodore.
