Weyburn sees crime reduction

Stats Canada has recently released the Uniform Crime Reporting Crime Severity Index.

"The Crime Severity Index is a measure in determining if crime has become more or less serious over time," said Weyburn Chief of Police Marlo Pritchard.

Chief Pritchard reported that Weyburn has seen a reduction in the Crime Severity measure compared from 2010 to 2011.

The total Crime Severity index for Weyburn has seen a reduction of 15.9%. The Index also indicates a 3.5% reduction in violent crimes and an 18.8% reduction in non-violent crimes in Weyburn.
