LONDON - British police say a Canadian woman, charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of her two babies, is to remain in custody until Tuesday.
Jewelry designer Felicia Boots was charged with the murder of her children, 10-week-old son Mason and his 14-month-old sister Lily, at their home in southwest London earlier this week.
Boots, 34, appeared at the South Western Magistrates' Court Saturday, where she was ordered held in custody until her next court appearance May 15.
The Telegraph newspaper reported that Boots, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark grey jumper, waved to her parents and a friend as she left court.
The suspect's husband was identified as Jeffrey Boots, a former investment banker with the Bank of Montreal.
Neighbours say the couple had moved in to their luxury home in the Wandsworth area just two weeks ago.
Jackie Cook, 52, told the Mirror newspaper that it was too early to have known the couple well.
She said: "It's such a tragedy, I can't believe it," she told the Mirror.
The case has received considerable coverage in the British media with photos of the family and images of people laying flowers and teddy bears in front of the home where the children's bodies were found.
