TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (11,280.64, down 50.04 points):

Mercator Minerals Ltd. (TSX:ML). Miner. Up two cents, or 3.39 per cent, at 61 cents on 8,444,060 shares.

Cott Corp. (TSX:BCB). Beverage producer. Up 20 cents, or 2.80 per cent, at $7.35 on 5,727,934 shares.

Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX:IVN). Miner. Up six cents, or 0.69 per cent, at $8.76 on 5,691,520 shares.

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Down two cents, or 0.28 per cent, at $7 on 5,411,176 shares.

Celestica Inc. (TSX:CLS). Insurer. Down four cents, or 0.53 per cent, at $7.53 on 5,378,749 shares.

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Consumer technology. Down 42 cents, or 3.62 per cent, at $11.19 on 4,916,068 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,227.88, down 0.20 of a point):

Canaco Resources Inc. (TSXV:CAN). Miner. Unchanged, at 31 cents on 4,436,879 shares.

Cicada Ventures Ltd. (TSXV:CID). Natural resources. Up 1.5 cents, or 150 per cent, at 2.5 cents on 3,528,000 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU). Software development. Down $2.11, or 2.37 per cent, at $87 on 11,605 shares. The OMERS pension fund manager is reducing its stake in Constellation through an $89.5-million transaction with another institutional investor. OMERS says it will continue to own more than 4.3 million common shares of Constellation, or 20.4 per cent of the Toronto-based company's equity, after selling 994,800 shares to an unidentified buyer.

Champion Minerals Inc. (TSX:CHM). Miner. Up one cent, or 1.08 per cent, at 94 cents on 158,923 shares. Champion has acquired full ownership of the Fermont properties in northeastern Quebec's iron ore belt by purchasing a 17.5 per cent interest owned by Fancamp Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:FNC). In return, Fancamp receives about $13.1 million worth of Champion stock plus warrants to buy an additional seven million shares at $3 each.
