WYNYARD, Sask. - Emergency rooms in two Saskatchewan communities need a little life support if they're going to stay open beyond the end of August.
Two doctors in Wynyard and two in nearby Wadena have been sharing ER duties since last September to keep each community's emergency department open every other week.
But one doctor left Wadena on Tuesday and the other plans to leave at the end of August.
The Saskatoon Health Region says it's working feverishly to find new doctors, but admits it hasn't had any luck so far.
Officials say the two remaining doctors would not be able to operate the emergency rooms and their clinics at the same time.
Meetings were held Wednesday with staff at both facilities and with the public to update them on the situation.
